Viré-Clessé's identity

The viré-Clessé communal appellation owes its name to the INAO decree, which through a series of articles of internal law, situates the AOC within its delimited surface area (the communes of Viré, Clessé, Montbellet and Laizé), stipulates the conditions of its production (minimum yiIts identityeld of 55 hl/ha, the Chardonnay grape variety and a minimum ABV of 11 %), the administrative regulations and the labelling requirements to which it is subject, and specifies among other things that the wines entitled to this controlled appellation must be made with grapes harvested at an acceptable degree of maturity and vinified in accordance with local practices.
