Secure payment

Payment via the Société Générale's system, Sogenactif, is a truly secure payment solution.

What do you do?

All you need is:

  • to be the holder of a bank card (Carte Bleue Eurocard, Mastercard, Visa or American Express)
  • to make sure that your Internet access provider and your Internet browser allow you to use the SSL system (Cf. § SSL Protocol below)
  • to proceed as follows:

After selecting your product(s) and filling in the order form, you must choose your means of payment: if you opt for payment by bank card, you are automatically directed to the Société Générale's secure server; the transaction is carried out in secure mode, which guarantees the confidentiality of the information you supply. Fill in the corresponding boxes, taking care not to type either your confiderntial code or your account number. The Sogenactif server will ask for an authorisation of payment. You are informed of the answer at the same time as Viré Wine Cellars, and if the answer is positive, the transaction can go ahead.

The SSL protocol

Today, the principle of the SSL protocol is the most widely used system to ensure the security of transactions. SSL: Secure Sockets Layer.

The SSL solution has demonstrated its success because it is simple to use and can be used with all browsers available on the market: you will notice at the bottom left of your Netscape browser a small key which automatically becomes full size if the server sending you the data is using SSL. SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is an information communication protocol, which makes possible the authentification, the confidentiality and the integrity of the data exchanged.
